Fantasy Football Fix Oct 19th 2010

Chiefs Texans FootballRBBC looming in Houston? This sounds almost insane to be saying with how well Arian Foster has been playing but feature back pest extraordinaire Derrick Ward is back at it again and has forced his way into a timeshare. I think its 80-20 but it is probably closer to 75-25 with a 70-30 split probably what the coaches are envisioning. This is a long season and this is probably the best best for the Texans football club; however for fantasy owners it could prove detrimental and you may want to use this opportunity to sell high on Arian Foster, especially in dynasty leagues.

Colt McCoy has a chance to start in week 7, and as we said in our hot pickups article we believe he should be given another chance. If he can provide another 250+ yard game with at least one score than this ascension by attrition has the chance to stick.

Earnest Graham to take over as the lead back in Tampa Bay? Not likely due to Raheem Morris’ affection for Caddy’s pass blocking and blitz pickup skills, but carries will be more evenly distributed going forward. Kareem Huggins is done for the season, LaGarette Blount was a healthy inactive in week 6, which leaves former fantasy ADP value Earnest Graham may get to experience a fantasy relevance revival of sorts. Add in all leagues where you need an extra runner.

Steve Smith is likely out another week according to Carolina Panthers beat writer Darin Gantt. Matt Moore is taking over at QB which should help Smith’s fantasy prospects when he returns from his high ankle sprain. Update: Steve Smith returned to practice and barring any setback will play in week 7.

Felix Jones will likely see a workload decrease after he was vomiting and needed an IV at half time likely due to the large workload he received in the 1st half of a physical game against the vaunted Vikings defensive line. Felix needs to be a 20 touch a game player but Marion Barber should grind out the tough yards at the start and end of games while Felix plays the role of the explosive play-maker between the 20’s. You should still consider Felix a low-end RB2 the rest of the way and a solid RB2 in PPR leagues.
