Fantasy Football Fix October 20th 2010
Joseph Addai seems to be in line to miss a few weeks with a shoulder injury. Donald Brown is expected to return from injury in what will for all attempts and purposes be his feature back job interview with Addai heading to free agency. If he performs well the job is his, otherwise looks for the Colts to draft a 1st or 2nd day running back.
Darren McFadden seems to be on track to play this Sunday and he will be handed back the feature back role in Oakland. With that said unless it is a blowout I fully expect both backs to touch the ball 15+ times which should leave both McFadden and Michael Bush in RB3/Flex territory for this weekends game.
DeSean Jackson is in danger of missing the next couple of games and Jeremy Maclin is the obvious beneficiary and can now be considered a low-end WR1/high end WR2 for fantasy purposes.
Early Doucet and Steve Breaston are expected to return to the Cardinals this week and will give undrafted rookie QB Max Hall a serious boost in value both in real and fantasy terms. With more weapons at his disposal we may start to see some of what the Cardinals see in Hall.
Pierre Thomas missed practice on Thursday and if I was a betting man I would wager on PT being out for at least one more game. This means rookie Chris Ivory will get another chance to make a case for a piece of the backfield workload when Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush return.
Dallas Clark is reportedly in danger of missing the rest of the season with a hand injury. Jacob Tamme will be Clark’s replacement. Tamme is nothing more than a bye week filler for now.
Austin Collie is set to be out for a few weeks after undergoing hand surgery this week. Blair White is now a hot pickup once again.
Eddie Royal missed practice for the second consecutive day and is in danger of missing Sunday’s tilt. Royal’s absence would increase the fantasy value of Brandon Llyod, Demaryius Thomas and Jabar Gaffney.
Malcolm Floyd will miss the Sundays game for the Chargers and this means that Patrick Crayton will get another start and that Buster Davis will also be heavily involved in the passing game as he was last week.
