Fantasy Football Fix October 3rd 2010
Clinton Portis heard his groin pop and this means that Ryan Torain may take over the starting job if Portis is unable to play in the Redskins next game.
Arian Foster was benched for most of the first half against Oakland due to missing a team meeting last week and being late to another. Foster’s off-field issues that left him undrafted are still there but with little competition Foster will be given some leeway. Foster still had a monstrous night with over 150 total yards and 2 all-purpose TD’s.
Michael Vick got knocked out of the game with a rib and chest injury after being sandwiched between two hits and did not return. Kevin Kolb took over and did not really impress.
Steve Smith suffered a dreaded high ankle sprain and this should keep him out for at least one week if not more. We will know more in the coming days regarding the severity.
Jay Cutler left Sunday nights game with a concussion after being sacked 9 times in the first half. That awful line everyone was saying could not protect Cutler, well they showed up this week in full force.
Mike Tolbert was dominant last night but as we all expected Ryan Mathews will be handed back the starting job once deemed at full strength. Mike Tolbert is too effective to drop in fantasy leagues and should have a big role going forward on the strength of his performance the last few weeks.
Darren McFadden has injured his hamstring and if he misses anytime his impressive run as feature back may be over. McFadden proved that he does indeed have the all-world talent that the Raiders and the rest of the football world knew he had when he was drafted. If McFadden is unable to go than Michael Bush will get the start.
