Fantasy Football Fix September 10th 2010
Adrian Peterson wants the ball more. AP did get 22 touches on Thursday but the run game was abandoned late in the game despite the score being close and Brett Favre clearly showing some rust. Expect Brad Childress to ensure that the Minnesota Vikings running back is more involved late in close games in the future.
Is Jay Cutler a fantasy starter? This is the question posed by ESPN Insiders fantasy analysts Eric Karabell and he asserts that we will have our answer when the Chicago Bears take on the Detroit Lions this weekend. We love Cutler as a huge ADP value and have him on our rosters in many leagues, so we will be watching this one intently.
Eric Karabell dissected the ESPN rankings and posed questions many in the fantasy community may be asking themselves after seeing the rankings, such as: should I sit Anquan Boldin?, is Jerome Harrison a must-start? and more, check out his article for the answers to these questions and more. Hint: Jerome Harrison should be played against Tampa Bay.
Eric Karabell’s rankings are some of the best in the biz. So make sure you sign up for ESPN Insider if you want the edge in your fantasy league.
Which players will have a big week 1? ESPN’s Matthew Berry chimed in on the subject and suggests that Jerome Harrison, Mike Wallace, Jabar Gaffney, Arian Foster, Ronnie Brown, Denis Dixon and Kyle Orton may have big weeks and he included them on his “Love” list for this weeks match-up’s. Who does he hate? Well you going to have to give his article a read to find that out.
Who is week 1’s pickup of the week? Fred Taylor according to ESPN’s Eric Karabell. Taylor is slated to be the starter in this RBBC, but with Laurence Maroney still dealing with a sore groin Taylor is expected to get the majority of the carries here. Taylor is ancient for a starting running back but he has proven time and time again that when he is healthy that he still has plenty of gas left in the tank. If you are a regular reader he will not be be, but if possible add Taylor in any league he is still available.
DeAngelo Williams may be let walk by the Carolina Panthers when his contract is up at the end of this season. This is exactly what we expect as Jonathan Stewart as he showed at the end of last year is ready for a feature back role.
