Fantasy Football Fix September 14th 2010
Shonn Greene has indeed been demoted and is now a time-share back instead of a feature back. We cant say we did not see this coming as he had an absolutely horrendous game while LaDanian Tomlinson surprised most on-lookers and proved he still has some gas left in his tank.
Ryan Grant done for the year. Brandon Jackson will be taking over as the feature back for the Green Bay Packers. Expect the Packers to look for a backup but coach McCarthy trusts Brandon Jackson enough to let him run with the role.
Laurence Maroney has been traded to the Broncos. Maroney will eventually displace Corell Buckhalter as KnowShown Moreno’s backup. Maroney has history with coach Josh McDaniels from his days with the Patriots and that is why this trade was consummated. Andre Brown was subsequently released to make room for Maroney.
ESPN week 2 projections are available and the names readers will likely find the most eyebrow raising are Jabar Gaffney and Darren McFadden while Percy Harvin’s ommission and Shonn Greene’s rank will also cause some conversation.
CBS Fantasy Football’s week 2 projections are out and the most notable surprises are Michael Vick as the #6 QB and Hakeem Nicks as the #5 WR. Remember CBS Fantasy Football puts out the best free projections in the biz so take notice.
ESPN Insider’s Eric Karabell suggests not sitting Cedric Benson against Baltimore and point to last year when Benson averaged over 100 yards a game and a score against the vaunted Ravens D. We agree, roll the dice with Benson, history is on your side.
