Fantasy Football Fix September 24th 2010
Jerome Harrison missed yet another practice and is not a good bet to play against the Ravens this Sunday. James Davis is in line to get some carries and is a nice speculative add as he is the running back who Win My Fantasy League likes the best of the three running backs that are now in the mix. We are hoping he takes the starting job and runs with it.
Ryan Torain has been signed from the practice squad and facing a beatable Rams defense Torain may be set up for success if Clinton Portis‘s wrist proves to be too bothersome for him to play a full complement of snaps. With that said do not view the Ryan Torain signing as an indicator of Portis’ health rather remember that they needed another back with Larry Johnson recently being released.
Devin Thomas may finally see some game action and I expect him to make full use of the opportunity as he has been buried on the bench for the entire season contributing only on special teams. He may be a flex worthy starter in less than 3 weeks and is worth the speculative add.
James Starks is running at full speed and needs to be added now in deep leagues. Sites like Rotoworld keep on hyping him so he will not last long on the wire, the only reason he may still be there is because he is not eligible to come off the PUP and play in a game until week 7. Starks is a John McCarthy favorite and also a Win My Fantasy League favorite, make the speculative add. Stay ahead of the curve, and save your waiver priority or free agent dollars. Dynasty league managers….add NOW.
The Browns will make sure to get Joshua Cribbs more involved in the offense now that Brian Robiskie doesn’t look like he will suit up against the Ravens. He is explosive and functioning as the #2 job makes him a upside flex start in deeper leagues.
Dustin Keller is set to be the focal point of the Jets offense this week and it is looking like he is a must-start this week with Braylon Edwards not getting a start due to his recent DWI and resulting probation violation. Keller is an upside TE1 this week.
Speculation has it that Knowshown Moreno may be out 2 weeks or more making our Laurence Maroney recommendation even more urgent for RB needy owners. He is a solid flex starter this week and has a chance to carve out a role on the offense with a big game.
Tony Moeaki is the Chiefs leading receiver and in my view this is more an indictment of Matt Cassell than an endorsement of Moeaki who has some decent value in two TE leagues. Moeaki is also a decent add in dynasty leagues if you have the roster space but the fact is Matt Cassell is destroying the fantasy values of Dwayne Bowe and Chris Chambers single-handedly and seems to be playing himself into being released in the off-season.
