Fantasy Football Fix September 3rd 2010

Seahawks Camp FootballT.J Houshmandzadeh will be traded or released as the Seahawks are reportedly trying to free up money to go after Vincent Jackson (who is much better by the way). There are a few teams interested in Housh and Ochocinco said he will be lobbying hard for the Bengals to bring his former teammate back at the veterans minimum if he becomes a free agent. There are a few teams that could use Housh so expect him to be snapped up immediately. Mike Williams is the main beneficiary of this trade as he is now a starter and we feel even if V-Jax comes to town that Williams will be more fantasy relevant than Deion Branch. We like Deon Butler as a late round sleeper or a speculative add in deeper leagues. This should be resolved by the end of the day on Saturday.

Derrick Ward has been signed by the Texans as injury depth with Steve Slaton nursing an injury and Ben Tate out for the season. The Texans subsequently released Jeremiah Johnson after picking up the veteran. Ward will not make much of a fantasy impact unless Arian Foster stumbles or fumbles, if that happens Ward will be an RB3 and a low end RB2 PPR leagues. We all saw the damage he can do with a healthy diet of touches and I am not of of those who believe that he is done yet.

Willie Parker has been cut which means Larry Johnson is a high upside backup in Shannahan’s RBBC. I still feel LJ will emerge as the most valuable fantasy back in this backfield. Ryan Torain has also been released which makes Keiland Williams an interesting name to put on your fantasy radar.

Tashard Choice is on the trading block and he can be a starter for multiple teams and become immediately fantasy relevant so we are keeping a close eye on this one.

Ladell Betts has been cut from the Saints and that leaves DeShawn Wynn as their 4th back. Saints backs have a tendency to get nicked so Wynn may see his way onto the field and a week or two of fantasy relevance. We prefer the hurt Corey Ivory if you have to roster someone outside of Thomas and Bush.

Partick Crayton to the Chargers. Crayton seriously hurts the fantasy prospects of Legudu Naanee and provides some depth in lieu of a Vincent Jackson ouster. The Chargers are also reportedly interested in T.J if he is released, so we will see how this all shapes up. I hope you did not go all in and make Malcom Floyd and make him your WR2..if you did send me an email with your leagues top FA’s and we will try to help you out.
