Fantasy Football Target Practice – Week 7
Win My Fantasy League writer Rizzla takes a look at this past weeks top targets and provides some analysis from a fantasy football perspective.
This weeks top targets were Chad Ochocinco and Seattle’s Mike Williams, they had 16 targets a piece with Ochocinco hauling in 10 and Mike Williams snaring 11.
Mike Williams is now a solid WR3 with obvious WR2 upside and should be in fantasy lineups weekly, he is still somehow available in over half of the leagues polled (70%) and needs to be added immediately in all formats.
Surprise names with double digit targets include Roscoe Parrish, Patrick Crayton, Craig Davis, Ladell Betts, Lee Evans and Steve Johnson. As you can see 5 of the names are from two teams and we suspect this had more to do with the tone of the games (i.e. shootout and blowout) than a emerging trend.
The most efficient receiver on the day was Roddy White who hauled in 11 of his 13 targets for 201 yards and 2 TD’s, and showed once again that he is one of the top receivers in fantasy football, especially in PPR leagues.
Darren Sproles and Cadillac Williams also deserves mention for hauling in 9 of 9 targets and 8 of 8 targets respectively.
Players with double digit targets include: Mike Williams (Sea), Mike Williams (TB), Kenny Britt, Roddy White, Chad Ochocinco, Terrell Owens, Jeremy Maclin, Hakeem Nicks, Steve Smith (NYG), Marques Colston, Anquan Boldin, Jason Witten, Johnny Knox, Kellen Winslow, Hines Ward, Larry Fitzgerald, Greg Jennings, Kenny Britt, Roscoe Parrish, Patrick Crayton, Craig Davis, Ladell Betts, Lee Evans and Steve Johnson.
The following players have all seen their fantasy stock rise after this past weeks games: Mike Williams (Seattle); Roddy White; Johnny Knox; Steve Johnson and Fantasy Beast of the Week Kenny Britt.
Larry Fitzgerald had a bad week only hauling in 3 of his 10 targets, but not all of his targets were on target so there is no reason to panic here.
Hot Pickup Mike Williams and Anquan Boldin dominated their QB’s eyes and received a whopping 42% of the passing game targets, keep this in mind going forward to the trade deadline.
