The New England Patriots have traded their 4th round 2011 draft pick for Wide Receiver Dieon Branch. Branch was drafted by New England and played there from 2002 to 2006. More importantly, he was a key contributor to 3 Patriot titles in just 4 years.
So far this season, Branch was fourth on the Seahawks in receiving yards with one TD. A move to the pass-happy Patriots is a huge upgrade for Deion and should be the 2nd Wide Receiver after Wes Welker on the depth chart. There are reports that Tom Brady was in contact with Branch once Moss trade talks were in the works. The fact that the New England QB is asking for a specific WR makes Branch an immediate pickup in all leagues. As receiver stats depend heavily on the chemistry and trust between QB and WR, expect Branch to be targeted often by Brady.
The Seahawks seem to be developing their young receiving corp with the likes of Golden Tate, Mike Williams and Tight End John Carlson. Shipping Branch out of there, give Tate and Williams a slight upgrade.
