And all it took was for him to get traded to a team that desired to utilize his skill set to its maximum potential.
Hedo Turkoglu who was considered a bust in Toronto and in Phoenix has enjoyed a career resurgence playing for the Magic once again and has made both Alvin Gentry and Jay Triano look like the incompetent green coaches their teams records have indicated they are.
Jay Triano refused to make Hedo the number two option to Chris Bosh and Hedo’s game suffered tremendously because of it, he was later booed by home team fans down the stretch of the season and asked out of Toronto this summer.
Gentry had the bright idea that because Hedo is 6’10 that he could be a power forward despite the Turkish born player never averaging more than 5.7 rebounds.
Needless to say, that brilliant move did not work out either.
Hedo is now back in Orlando and his numbers have already improved to a point to where he is doing better in every statistical category versus his numbers in Toronto and Phoenix.
Most recently Hedo broke out with a triple double of 10 points, 10 assists and 14 rebounds and has now fully completed his career revival.
Fantasy Impact:
Hedo has averaged over 30 minutes a game since rejoining the Magic and now that he is once again functioning as the critical cog in Orlando’s offense we can expect his numbers to return to his 2008-2009 Magic form with a slight decrease in points.
Projected stats: 14.7 ppg, 4.9 apg, 4.9 rpg, 1.4 3ptm
