Hot Pickups – Week 14

0
Golden Tate – Golden Tate shined during TNF to the tune of a career high four receptions for 47 yards and a score. He also added eight yards rushing coming from one attempt. Tate is available in 98 percent of Yahoo! leagues and with Sidney Rice done for the year he may get more opportunities to develop and provide fantasy value to his owners.

Dan Orlovsky – With the Colts comfortable that they will end up in last place no matter what they have turned over the reigns to Dan Orlovsky. While he is no Peyton Manning, he is a serious upgrade from Curtis Painter as evidenced by his 30 completions, 353 passing yards and two touchdowns. Orlovsky is available in 98 percent of Yahoo! leagues and can help those in two QB leagues in a pinch. I am looking at you Jay Cutler owners.

Austin Collie – Collie had seven receptions for 70 yards with Dan Orlovsky at the helm and his fantasy outlook has greatly improved with this switch. Orlovsky though not even a good QB is a major upgrade from Curtis Painter and with the weapons the Colts have at their disposal should be able to rejuvenate the fantasy values of most Colts’ skill position players. Collie is available in 89 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Demaryius Thomas – With Eddie Royal hurt, Demaryius Thomas got a chance to prove that he is the Broncos best receiver and that he should be Tim Tebow’s number one target due to his size, hands and separation skills. Thomas went off for 144 yards and two touchdowns from four receptions. Though he has flashed his unbelievable upside more than once he is still only considered a flex2 option due to Tim Tebow’s inconsistency at the QB position. Thomas is available in 94 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Brad Smith – Smith had a second straight strong week amassing seven receptions for 72 yards for the Buffalo Bills. Still available in 94 percent of Yahoo! leagues Smith is a must-add in PPR leagues. Smith can serve as a flex2 in PPR formats and as a injury fill in in standard leagues.

Malcolm Floyd – Available in 60 percent of Yahoo! leagues Floyd can help fantasy owners down the stretch run in a flex capacity. He hauled in four receptions for 108 yards and a touchdown on Monday Night Football and could be in line for another big game against Buffalo. Target him wherever available.

Johnny Knox – Available in 53 percent of Yahoo! leagues Knox solidified himself as Caleb Hanie’s number one target this past Sunday hauling in five receptions for 53 yards. Knox can help those in deeper leagues looking for a flex2 option and is a serviceable injury replacement in shallower formats.

Andre Roberts – Roberts reappears on the fantasy radar following a six reception, 111 yard game against the Cowboys in week 13. Roberts can help deep leaguers looking for a flex injury replacement. At the very least he should be added to block other owners from doing so.

Nate Burleson – Burleson had a strong game against the New Orleans Saints but could have had an even bigger night if not for three offensive pass interference calls called against him. Available in 61 percent of Yahoo! leagues Burleson looks like a flex2 with flex upside.
