Hot Pickups – Week 14
Devante Parker – Some fantasy owners seemed to have doubted Parker’s talent coming out of week twelve but talent has never, ever been the issue for Parker, only the depth chart. Parker is easily the most talented receiver on the Dolphins roster and possesses legit every year WR1 upside talent. Parker needs to be added in each and every league available. Like DGB he is a potential lottery ticket you absolutely do not want to let your opponents get their hands on even if you couldn’t play him yourself in the upcoming weeks. View the 70 percent available Parker as a WR4/flex2 ‘screaming’ with WR2 upside.
James White – So, apparently 76 percent of the Yahoo! universe did not get the memo that James White has finally emerged and is playing the Shane Vereen role that journeyman Dion Lewis thrived in for the Patriots earlier this season. White had a career day this past Sunday as he tallied ten receptions for 115 yards and a touchdown. White operated as the Patriots number two target which is a trend we could see continue until Rob Gronkowski is ready to return. White projects as an RB3 going forward and could be a locked in RB2 by this time next week. Add White everywhere available.
Dorial Green-Beckham – The Mariota-DGB connection has begun. This promises to be a special duo for the better part of the next decade and owners should be looking to make the add this week whether it is as a stash or a block. DGB has WR1 upside and has finally found his way up the depth chart for the Titans. DGB is one of those special receivers that just needed to put it all together on the field and could quickly become a household name in the fantasy community. Add the 86 percent available DGB where possible as a low floor WR3 with weekly WR2 upside.
Tyler Lockett – While Doug Baldwin is the one having the monster games Tyler Lockett is quietly emerging as a solid week to week fantasy option. Lockett turned in a seven reception, 90 receiving yard performance against the Vikings and will look to build on his new career high in receptions. Lockett is a special player and while Baldwin may continue to be the more valuable of the two, Russell Wilson is playing well enough right now to support two fantasy relevant receivers. Add the 80 percent available Lockett as a flex2 option with WR3 upside.
Ted Ginn Jr. – Available in 64 percent of Yahoo! leagues Ted Ginn is someone owners should be looking to add this week. Ginn was targeted heavily last week with the Panthers playing from behind and his two touchdown day could have been much bigger had he not dropped a couple of easy touchdown passes. Ginn remains just a slightly above average talent in real life but is running as his team’s number one receiver and gets open deep multiple times a game which means despite being boom or bust his booms can hurt your opponents and hurt you. This is ‘blocking’ time of year so if you have the roster space adding Ginn just to keep him away from opponents is a perfectly reasonable strategy.
Chris Polk – The Texans may finally be ready to give Chris Polk an extended look and he may be a valuable stash or block option as he could find some value in the final two weeks of the fantasy season. Do not waste high waiver priority or a large chunk of your remaining FAAB dollars but Polk could emerge as ‘the guy’ in the backfield for the rest of the season. Add the 97 percent available Polk where needed.
