Robert Meachem (WR) – Last year after 5 weeks, Meachem had only 8 catches and 2 TDs, but finished the season strong with a total of 45 catches, 722 yards, and 9 touchdowns. On Sunday, he had his best game of 2010, accumulating 72 yards and a touchdown. Although he is listed as the 3rd wideout, look for Drew Brees and the Saints offense to be more productive once Running Backs Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush return. Now is the time to pick up Meachem.
David Amendola (WR) – On Sunday, Amendola caught 12 passes for 95 yards in a career game. Amendola has been leading the Rams in receptions but has yet to score. With Mark Clayton likely out for the year with a torn patella tendon, Amendola should become Sam Bradford’s number 1 redzone target. Laurent Robinson has been a bust so far this season and no Rams Tight End has stepped up. Excluding Clayton, Amendola has 19 more receptions than any other Ram player. He is an immediate pickup in all formats.
Earnest Graham (RB) – Four different RB’s rushed for Tampa Bay on Sunday, the most effective being Earnest Graham with 65 yards and a touchdown. To be fair his entire production for the day was based on one TD run for 61 yards. Still, he is only the Buccaneer RB to have both a rushing and receiving TD and is a Cadillac-Injury-away from becoming an everyday fantasy player.
Steve Johnson (WR) – The Bills may be the worst team in the AFC, but their fantasy star could be emerging. After Sunday’s 2-touchdown performance, Johnson has 4 TD’s and 214 yards this season. Despite being listed as the 2nd Wide Receiver on the depth chart, Johnson is largely unowned. Buffalo will be playing from behind in most games and will be airing it out to Lee Evans and Steve Johnson. Johnson should be picked up in standard leagues.
Anthony Armstrong (WR) – This is not a pickup for PPR leagues. But for the standard leagues that depend heavily on touchdowns, consider Armstong. Over the past few games, he has been Donovan McNabb’s deep threat. Today he had 3 catches for 84 yards, including a 48 yard touchdown. Santana Moss and Chris Cooley are McNabb’s ‘go-to-guys,’ but a few times a game they go for the home-run pass and it seems to be always going to Anthony Armstrong. He is a deep and dynasty league pickup.
Mike Hart – (RB) With Donald Brown out for week 5, Mike Hart stepped in as the backup to Joseph Addai. He averaged 4.5 yards per carry on 11 rushes, including one touchdown. Both Brown and Addai have shown much to be desired, so far averaging just 3.5 and 3.9 yards per carry, respectively. Keep on eye on Hart, especially since Donald Brown is often injured.
