Hot Pickups – Week Ten

0
Roy Helu – Roy Helu exploded in week nine after being named the starter prior to game time. While he struggled on the ground against one of the NFL’s top run defenses he was able to put up a decent YPC of 4.1 on 10 carries and an turned in an outstanding 14 receptions for 105 yards. Helu will remain the starter going forward and is a must-add this week. Helu looks to have flex status for the rest of the season and is threatening to enter RB3 territory in PPR leagues if he can put up another strong week. Helu is available in 69 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Antonio Brown – Still available in 32 percent of Yahoo! leagues Antonio Brown is clearly benefiting from the extra attention that Mike Wallace garners from opposing defenses. Brown has averaged 5.5 receptions and 73.5 yards over his past four games compared to four receptions for 83.5 for Mike Wallace. Brown is emerging as a legit flex option with WR3 upside and needs to be snapped up wherever available.

Laurent Robinson – Laurent Robinson is starting to emerge as a legit fantasy option thanks to a growing chemistry between him and Tony Romo. Romo often opts for the open receiver or good match-up which leaves Robinson as the third receiver at the end of many of Romo’s looks. Robinson is currently available in 86 percent of Yahoo! leagues and is looking like a serviceable flex option during the bye weeks.

Jacoby Ford – Ford got re-installed as a focus of the Raiders offense during their bye week and responded with 105 receiving yards and a touchdown coming from five catches. Ford is a decent flex2 option and a serviceable bye week filler the rest of the way. Ford is an electric play-maker and playing with Carson Palmer could prove to be a huge boost for his fantasy value. Ford is currently available in 80 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Jake Ballard – Jake Ballard continues to impress as the replacement for Kevin Boss and seems to have entered low-end TE1 territory after week nine’s performance of four receptions for 67 yards and a touchdown. Ballard has the full confidence of Eli Manning and his role should continue to grow going forward. Ballard is currently available in 67 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Torrey Smith – Torrey Smith had his coming out party on Sunday Night Football, routinely using his electrifying speed to get behind defenders and than making a clutch reception in the end zone to win the game over the Steelers. Smith finished the night with five receptions for 71 yards and a score and figures to have another couple of big games down the stretch. Smith is currently a flex option in deeper leagues and a flex2 option in deeper leagues. Smith is available in 55 percent of leagues and is a solid bye week filler for those in need of receiver help.

Earl Bennett – Earl Bennett had a coming out part of Monday Night Football as he routinely exposed the Eagles secondary working out of the slot. Jay Cutler and Bennett played together in college at Vanderbilt and Cutler seemingly trusts Bennett more than any other Bears receiver. Bennett has emerged as a flex2 option in PPR leagues and looks to be a serviceable bye week filler and injury replacement in most league sizes. Bennett is currently available in 95 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Honorable Mention: Austin Pettis, Early Docuet, Eddie Royal, Earl Bennett, Vincent Brown
