Hot Pickups – Week Twelve
Bobby Rainey – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive line has been on fire this year as they have been able to catapult a rookie and a waived running back into RB2 level fantasy talents. Rainey has been the latest beneficiary of the Bucs solid run blocking and exploded onto the fantasy scene with 30 carries for 163 yards and two touchdowns while adding two receptions for four yards and a score. We suggested to our readers last week that Rainey was the preferred add over Leonard who is more versatile fullback than running back but not even we saw this type of explosion coming from Rainey. Rainey is built well at 5’8 and 212 lbs so 25 plus touches a game going forward should not be an issue, the real question mark here is how much playing time he gets when they are playing from behind as Leonard is still the preferred passing down back. Rainey is available in 74 percent of Yahoo! leagues and should be added in the competitive leagues he somehow slipped through the cracks in.
Donald Brown – Available in 74 percent of Yahoo! leagues Donald Brown is officially the Colts best running back at the present time and remains a better option as a runner, receiver and red-zone back than T-Rich. Brown has continuously outplayed Richardson to the point where owners are now benching their first round pick and looking at other options week to week. Brown should continue to hold RB3 value going forward and is a solid add in the deeper leagues he is still sitting on the wire in.
Michael Crabtree – Available in 72 percent of Yahoo! leagues Crabtree has a chance to be a difference maker down the stretch. Crabtree was being considered to be activated this past week and the 49ers could really use him. CK has looked like a below average quarterback for much of the season, theoretically, because he is missing his top option in the passing game. Kaep and Crabtree have a very strong on field rapport and Crabtree will immediately vie for WR1 week to week status once he gets a game under his belt. Add Crabtree where your roster will allow.
Delanie Walker – If there is one thing we know about Ryan Fitzpatrick from his time with the Bills it is that he loves to target his tight ends in the passing game and Walker is one of the best he has played with. Walker should push for TE1 level production in PPR formats for the rest of the season and could be a decent stream play if your regular tight end has a particularly bad matchup. Walker is available in 79 percent of Yahoo! leagues.
Montee Ball – Montee seems to finally have earned the trust of the Broncos coaching staff and has emerged as the team’s goal line back, clock killing back and is also getting some work on passing downs. Ball could scratch the surface of RB1 upside given 15-18 touches per week but for now he is just a high upside flex option. Despite being drafted as an RB2 this off-season Ball is now available in 64 percent of Yahoo! leagues. Make the add where available.
Ace Sanders – Fresh off an eight reception game in week eleven Sanders deserves some consideration in PPR formats. The Jags passing attack is in shambles but there is always the opportunity for garbage time production making Sanders a viable option in deeper leagues. Sanders is available in 99 percent of Yahoo! leagues.
Nate Burleson – Burleson should step right back into the starting lineup for the Lions and will play some slot in three-wide sets. Burleson has immediate WR3 upside with the potential for more in PPR leagues. Kris Durham may steal some snaps in two wide sets Burleson is the superior player here in both the run and pass game. Burleson is available in 89 percent of Yahoo! leagues.
