IDP Rankings – Week Nine
LaRon Landry – Landry was well on his way to becoming the top defensive back in fantasy this year before he got injured and we expect him to get it going once again this week. His 26 total tackles in his first two games put him on pace for a linebacker like season and we advise all fantasy owners to remain cognizant of that upside. He has threatened 100 total tackles on multiple occasions and is a high floor play when healthy. Landry comes in as our number two ranked defensive back this week.
Barry Church – Church has been on fire this season and has already amassed 54 solo tackles, a number many of the best linebackers have not yet hit. He comes in as our top ranked defensive back play and should be in our top five for the rest of this season. Get him in your line-ups and stop worrying about name recognition. Church is for real.
Robert Quinn – Quinn beasted this past Monday Night against the Seahawks and showed the world on a national stage that he and Chris Long are among the best defensive end duos in all of football. Quinn has 10 sacks and four forced fumbles so far on the season and shows no signs of slowing down. Quinn is on track to threaten the elite 20 sack barrier. Quinn is a DL1 and will be for the rest of the year in our rankings.
Chandler Jones – As you could probably tell by now Jones is among my favorite IDP players so I will continue to hype him and rank him among the top five for the rest of the season. Jones has started to rack up the tackles and now leads all defensive lineman in this category while also posting 6.5 sacks this season which ranks him fourth among defensive lineman. Keep Jon Jones’ brother in your line-ups as he will only continue to get better.
Sean Lee – Is a IDP beast. Tackle monster. Most interceptions by a linebacker since he started playing in the NFL. Excels both in pass coverage and against the run. Thank you Penn State for another stud. Nuff said.
Vontaze Burfict – Mr. Burfict leads the NFL in total tackles with 85 so far on the season including a whopping 56 solo’s which ties him for 4th in the NFL. His outstanding season should be a surprise to no one as he stepped in as an undrafted rookie last year and led the Bengals with 127 total tackles last year, a number he will shatter if he makes it through all 16 games this season. Burfict is locked in as an LB1 for the foreseeable future.
