Is Beanie Wells ready to make the jump?
This is a question many fantasy football G.M’s are asking themselves heading into their drafts and we will dissect the potential for Wells to make the jump.
Wells will be the early-down back in Arizona and despite some thinking that it will be Hightower, it will be Wells who will be the goal-line back as Hightower has proven to be one of the worst short yardage backs in the league in his tenure with the Cardinals.
Wells is currently being drafted in RB2 territory as has potential to produce like a low-end RB1. He will likely finish the season with 250+ carries, 1000+ rushing yards and 6-10 TD’s..all this despite losing third-down and passing down work to Tim Hightower who has excellent hands.
Another thing working in Wells favor that indicates a possible jump is the fact that Arizona has decided to boast a more balanced offense following the retirement of Kurt Warner (356 rushes to 592 pass attempts last season), which makes a 250+/150+ split in favor of Wells all the more plausible of a scenario. Wells will likely finish the season with close to 300 touches and at just 4 yards per carry he will crack the 1000 yard mark.
Don’t sleep on Beanie on draft day, he may make you regret it.

obviously you aren’t sure what you are talking about. Timmy is a very capable goal line back and has performed very well in that situation since he has been in the league. one of the reasons his yardage numbers are so low is he has a lot of goal line situations under his belt from back when he was behind James.
Good point, he was much better at short-yardage work in 2009.
