Yes.
For redraft league purposes Nick Young is indeed for real, he has entered national consciousness after his 43 point outburst but he has been fantasy relevant since the start of the season.
Young has been playing incredibly well this season and is averaging a robust 15.9 points per game for the Washington Wizards.
His scoring ability is for real as can be evidenced by his last two seasons of college where he averaged 17.4 points per game.
From a fantasy perspective Nick Young is something like a two trick pony as he will not help you in any categories except points and three pointers made. This has always been the case but now that he is scoring at an increased clip in a bigger role he has become a player that should be owned in all leagues despite his shortcomings.
Taking a look at Nick Young’s split stats after 35 games we see that he has played a lot better at home averaging 18.8 points on .484% shooting vs 13.2 points on .435% shooting on the road.
In 12 games as a starter Young has averaged a truly intriguing 20.4 points per game.
He put up 18.3 points per game in 14 December games and has averaged 22.2 in five January games.
Nick Young is still available in 36 percent of Yahoo! leagues.
