Is Peyton Manning worth the risk?
Rizzla: No. I love Peyton Manning and think he is one of the best quarterbacks of our time but he presents too much risk for his current ADP. If he can stay healthy he can be the dominant fantasy QB we have all come to love. One wrong landing from a hit and Manning’s career could be in serious peril. I will let another owner take the gamble this year.
Zach: I say yes. Sure, he’s struggled in preseason, but that’s what the preseason is for. His receivers haven’t helped him out a lot the first two games, but they’ll be ready to go in Week 1. I know Denver has arguably the toughest schedule in the NFL this season, but a worst case scenario is that they’ll fall behind to the great teams they’re playing and they’ll have to pass a lot. Manning is very dangerous when he’s coming from behind. He’s one of the riskier options at quarterback in 2012, but I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.
J-Has: There are just many other safer QB options out there to risk a pick on Peyton Manning. It would be different if he was being drafted as a QB2, but he is being drafted on average as the 43rd pick in ESPN leagues and as the 51st pick in Yahoo leagues. That is ahead of Tony Romo, RGIII, and even Matt Ryan! I will be rooting for Manning to make a comeback, except on the days when I am matched up against him in my fantasy league.
