Larry Johnson joining the Redskins is a monumental move for the Skins’ as Clinton Portis simply cant be relied upon to be the workhorse he once was despite returning to Mike Shannahan’s system which he previously excelled in.
LJ has less tread on his tires and is the player I would opt for late in fantasy drafts, this will be a Shannahan backfield so draft accordingly. Mike likes to ride the hot hand and both of these backs are essentially in fantasy purgatory while at the same time having an amazing ceiling due to the likely success one could have if he establishes himself as the lead back.
Draft LJ over Portis in this years fantasy draft, you’ll even be able to draft him after Portis so he will be a good value, as Portis is going to remain the ‘starter’ until further notice.
