Pickups of the week
Mark Clayton – Clayton broke out for the St. Louis Rams for a career high 10 catches for 131 yards and he seems locked in as Sam Bradford’s go-to receiver. Add in all formats.
Peyton Hillis – Peyton Hillis was the starting running back for the Browns and finished the game with 9 carries for 41 yards and a TD. He also led the Browns with 4 catches. Add in all formats if you have the roster space.
Mercedes Lewis – 2 catches, 2 TD’s. Lewis looks like a fine TE2 and should be added by TE needy teams or by teams looking for their bye week filler.
Austin Collie – 10 receptions, 131 yards and 1 TD. Collie is worth an add as Peyton Manning really trusts Austin Collie’s hands which is enough to make him fantasy relevant.
Deon Butler – Butler only had 1 cacth but it was a highlight worth end-zone grab as Butler scored his first career TD. Look for his role to expand in coming weeks.
Jordan Shipley – Rookie Jordan Shipley recorded 5 catches for 82 yards in his rookie debut. Shipley is a better add in dynasty leagues but seems to have emerged as a possession option along with fellow rookie Jermaine Gresham and is worth an add in deeper leagues.
Brandon Jackson – Ryan Grant has already been ruled out for week 2 and that means Brandon Jackson will be handed the feature back role. Add in all formats.
Michael Vick – Vick was impressive when Kevin Kolb went down and almost led the Philadelphia Eagles to a comeback. Vick was the teams leading rusher and also threw for a TD to Jeremy Maclin. Kolb will be the starter when healthy according to coach Andy Reid, but a couple more games like this and that will change. He is worth an add in deeper leagues.
Jermaine Gresham – 6 catches for only 25 yards but he was targeted a ton and he seems to be poised for a tremendous receiving season. Gresham should be added in all dynasty league formats if still available and is a high upside TE2 in redraft leagues.
This post will be updated to include players from Mondays games.
