QB Rankings – Week Twelve
Drew Brees comes in atop our week twelve rankings with an easy matchup versus disappointing division rival Atlanta Falcons on the slate. The Falcons are a mess after saying goodbye to John Abraham, Brent Grimes and Dunta Robinson and field one of the worst secondaries in the entire NFL with their linebacking corps is not far behind. The Falcons are giving up the seventh most fantasy points to opposing QB’s and Brees should have a field day in the dome.
Case Keenum was benched for Matt Schaub in week eleven but all signs point to the rookie getting another start this week against the lowly Jaguars. The Jags have given up the fifth most fantasy points to opposing QB’s and Keenum should have a strong fantasy day unless Kubiak pulls of another head scratcher and subs in Matt Schaub in-game. Keenum comes in as our 15th ranked QB play for week twelve.
Cam Newton should have a strong week twelve against a Dolphins team that has been strong against the pass but has struggled to contain the run. Forced to leave a defender in the box to spy on Cam Newton the Panthers passing attack should find some success and Cam Newton looks to be in line to rip off at least one big run against the dysfunctional Dolphins. Newton is currently ranked as a top five week twelve option.
Matt Ryan has been struggling this season without Julio Jones and it has become abundantly clear that Ryan is not, nor has ever been an elite QB in the NFL. Elevated by the monstrous talent around him in years past Ryan is on pace for a career high in interceptions and his three home losses this year are more than he had in all of 2011 and 2012 combined (only five regular season home losses in career prior to this season).
