RB Rankings – Week Five

The running back position has taken a serious nose dive this season with owners grasping at straws for serviceable talent, with that said the elite are still the elite, it is just the ‘middle class’ that has been an utter disappointment this season.

LeSean McCoy continues to look like one of the most dominant running backs in football despite the fact he has caught only seven passes all season. McCoy comes in number one in our rankings with Adrian Peterson on a bye week.

Despite being in a match-up where they are expected to be playing from behind, the Cowboys’ DeMarco Murray comes in as a top five option due to his exceptional receiving game chops. It also appears that the Cowboys have realized the only way to have sustained success is to have the run game open up the field for the passing attack.

Knowshown Moreno is ranked as a top-12 option…words I never thought I would be uttering with Montee Ball in the fold, but Moreno is reliable and that is all the high octane Broncos need from their running back at this time.

Giovanni Bernard is ranked at number 21 this week as we expect the Bengals to be in a potential shootout with the Patriots which will necessitate using Bernard more than BJGE. Bernard would be higher but BJGE will see snaps against his old team if for no other reason.

Daryl Richardson is still nothing more than an RB3 especially with news that he may have lost his starting job surfacing. Isaiah Pead should be the next in line due to his draft status but do not expect him to have a long leash as he may be wearing out his welcome in St. Louis. Look for Tavon Austin to see an increase in touches out of the backfield as well.

Without further adieu here are our live and constantly updated Week Five rankings:
