RB Rankings – Week Seven
Arian Foster looks like a top five option this week against a Chiefs defense giving up 116 total yards on the ground per game as well as 42 pass yards per game to opposing running backs. The Texans may be without Matt Schaub this week and will have to lean on Foster and to a lesser extent Ben Tate in order to find any success against the Chiefs. Foster will vie for 100 plus yards from scrimmage this week with a handful of receptions.
Zac Stacy is the Rams new featured back and should already be owned in all competitive leagues but is somehow still available in 53 percent of leagues after waivers have come and passed. Stacy goes up against a tough Panthers defense who ranks in the bottom ten in fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs. Despite the tough matchup Stacy should still flirt with RB2 numbers this week with 60-80 yards rushing and the potential to find the end zone.
Matt Forte comes in at number three in our rankings this week as the Bears square off against the lowly Washington defense. washington has given up 107 yards on the ground and 47 through the air to opposing running backs thus far this season so Matt Forte could be in for a field day. Forte should easily eclipse 100 yards from scrimmage and should find the end zone at least once this week.
Le’Veon Bell appears to have a tough matchup on paper based on the Ravens effectiveness against the run thus far this season but closer analysis of the Ravens reveals that they have been gashed in the run game twice so far this year giving up 77 yards to CJ Spiller and 87 to Fred Jackson in the same game and 120 yards to Eddie Lacy last week. The Ravens numbers are belied by the fact that the Broncos did not need to run and due to the ineffectiveness of both the Dolphins run game as a whole as well as Trent Richardson’s disappointing start to the season. Bell looks to have a plus matchup and every-down skills in what looks to a traditional AFC North smash mouth contest.
From a near fantasy wasteland of running back last week week seven produces 30 plus runners who could flirt with RB2 worthy numbers. This is a tough week to rank but a week that will also feature some tough decisions for owners. We hope these rankings help you in your deliberations.
