Sit em, Start em – Week Eight
Jeremy Hill – The Bengals coaches continue to throw their support behind the talented Hill and he will look to get rolling this week against the Steelers. Hill remains a better fit for the Bengals offense and Gio remains more effective in a COP role so Hill will continue to be fed the rock. The Bengals will look to control the clock in this one and Hill looks to have RB1 upside with an RB2 floor for week eight. Start in all formats.
Reggie Bush – Reggie Bush is in line to start for the 49ers this week with Carlos Hyde sidelined and should be started in most leagues. Bush is a shell of his former self but should get all the touches he can handle with Mike Davis showing poorly thus far this season. Fire Bush up in PPR leagues and consider him RB2/RB3 for week eight.
Stefon Diggs – Stefon Diggs is now a no-brainer weekly WR2 in all league formats and is a must start. To some owners he may still be viewed as a relative unknown who came out of nowhere but he was billed a gadget type slot man with home run ability coming out of college and had a big preseason so his success should surprise no one, only the speed which it happened should. Start Diggs universally.
Roddy White – White should see an increase in targets in week eight with Leonard Hankerson expected to be sidelined with a hamstring injury and is a recommended play in deeper leagues. White has been dropped in many leagues and is a sneaky streaming play that may see his role increase from here on our as the Falcons start to prepare their wily vet for a potential deep playoff run. Start White where needed.
Peyton Manning – Peyton Manning is going to have to throw in week eight against the Packers and should have his best passing yards game of the season and should at least push to match his season high in what was expected to be a shootout when the NFL put this match on the schedule for week eight. Manning still has solid weapons and a pitiful run game so he is going to be forced to throw regardless of how terrible he has looked doing so this season. This may be one of the final vintage games for Manning so tune in Sunday night for what may be one of the final marquee games of Peyton Manning’s career.
Sit em
Khiry Robinson – Robinson was a hot pickup in some circles after a two touchdown performance in week eight but is not a suggested start this week against the Giants with Ingram and Spiller both ahead of him on the depth chart. Consider Robinson’s two yards per carry, two touchdown week seven a fluke and ignore in all but ocean deep formats.
Ronnie Hillman – Hillman may see limited touches this week based on gameflow so the recommendation here is to sit the average Hillman as the Broncos square off against the Packers. Hillman presumably remains the higher value play out of the Broncos backfield but it is only a matter of time before CJ Anderson gets healthy and runs away with lead back duties. Keep the uninspiring Hillman on fantasy benches for week eight.
Nate Washington – Washington went berserk in week seven and saw a league high sixteen targets but a closer contextual look at his stat line belies the fact that his monster week came when Deandre Hopkins was brought back to earth by a stingy Dolphins defense. Washington is a solid play in the deepest of leagues as a flex3/flex4 but should not be employed by those in standard league sizes.
Reuben Randle – Despite his weekly role in the Giants offense Randle has been a bitter disappointment through seven weeks of the fantasy season and should not be started in any but the deepest of leagues. Randle has proven time and time again that he lacks the football IQ to maximize the potential his tools and opportunity have provided him. Sit Randle everywhere possible.
Derek Carr – Carr is expected to have a tough day against the Jets secondary in week eight and is not a suggested play for QB streamers and for those in two QB leagues. Look for other options for week eight as the Jets have allowed the fourth fewest points to opposing quarterbacks so far this season.
