Sit Em, Start Em – Week Eleven
Jordan Matthews – Jordan Matthews is looking like a borderline low-end WR2 this week against the Packers. He has displayed a solid chemistry with new quarterback Mark Sanchez and we trust that their rapport will only grow in the coming weeks. This game is expected to quickly morph into a shoot-out and we expect Matthews to have at least five receptions, 80 yards and a trip to the end zone and that is a conservative projection. Matthews should be started in 12 team leagues and deeper.
Mark Sanchez – Mark Sanchez looks like a much better quarterback than Nick Foles and should be in line for another big game against the Green Bay Packers. Sanchez is ranked as a top ten QB this week and should be in starting lineups for all owners save for those with the truly elite names at their disposal.
CJ Anderson – CJ Anderson looks to be in line to be the lead back for Denver with Ronnie Hillman out for the next two to three weeks. We can not rule out Ball shining on his touches and leading the backfield in touches but Anderson looks like the better scheme fit and though he is less talented than Ball, he is more well rounded and should boast flex value at the very minimum in week eleven.
Charles Sims – Charles Sims is a suggested start once again even after a slow week ten. Sims has the most talent in this backfield and is one of the best receiving backs in the entire NFL giving him even more value in PPR leagues. As the Bucs third-down back Sims should get his touches whether the Bucs are up or down in this one helping to make him the most valuable back in this backfield. It is only a matter of time until Sims breaks out.
Brandon LaFell – LaFell needs to be started in all leagues with the Patriots squaring off against the Colts this week on Sunday Night Football. LaFell flashed talent in Carolina but has really come into his own with the substantial upgrade to Tom Brady at quarterback as a member of the New England Patriots. LaFell is a sure-fire WR2 this week and could put up some monster numbers as the Colts defense tries to stop Rob Gronkowski.
Mychal Rivera – Rivera has become fantasy football’s latest garbage time hero and looks like he will be in the TE1 conversation for the rest of the season. Rivera has added value in PPR formats and has racked up seven receptions per game and averaged and touchdown per over his last three contests. Rivera should be started in most formats.
Sit Em
Wes Welker – Wes Welker continues to have a minimal role in the Broncos offense and should be on fantasy benches until he starts to get some love from Peyton Manning. Sit Welker in all leagues sizes this week while those in shallower formats should have already looked into adding a higher floor option.
Cordarelle Patterson – Patterson has been an absolute bust this year and the going does not project to get any better with Kyle Rudolph making his return this week. Admittedly it is hard to sit someone with game-breaking talent like Patterson but he hit a new low last week with a meager one reception off of seven targets. Patterson is droppable in shallower formats while those in deeper leagues need to keep him on their rosters just to keep his off of your rivals’ in the event he finally does make good on his talent and potential in 2014.
Jonathan Stewart/DeAngelo Williams – Both of these backs should be on fantasy benches if you can help it. The Panthers O-line has not looked good all season and Cam Newton is playing hurt further allowing opposing defenses to focus on stopping the run. Both are RB4 types this week with stewart having closer to RB3 value due to his involvement in the passing game and in the red-zone.
Bobby Rainey – Many pundits continue to state that Rainey will pace the Bucs backfield in touches this week but we here at WMFL believe that Sims, with one game now under his belt, is ready for a much larger workload and as the team’s most talented running back and a suggested start for week eleven Rainey should be on fantasy benches in all leagues. Rainey did not look good last week and we see no reason to believe that he will have a better going against Washington with Sims in line for the feature job and the corresponding touches.
Alex Smith – Those of you in two QB leagues or deep 20 man plus leagues are the ones in need of weekly QB sit/start advice and this week you should be looking for other options than Alex Smith. Facing the Seahawks always limits the potential upside of opposing fantasy players and when we are talking about a game-manager that fact is accentuated. Sit Smith if other options are available as he has one of the lowest floors in the league this week.
Larry Donnell – Donnell has tapered off since his hot start to the season but he has really cooled off since the activation of rookie phenom Odell Beckham Jr. Donnell should be on fantasy benches in all but the deepest of leagues until he picks it back up.
