Fantasy Football Target Practice – Week 8
Arian Foster was the most efficient receiver on the day and finished with 9 catches on 9 targets. This kind of usage in the passing game only increases his fantasy value.
Interesting names with double digit targets include: Jerricho Cotchery, Steve Johnson and Steve Breaston. Breaston and Johnson are hot pickups while Cotchery should be left on the wire as the teams #5 option in the passing game.
The following players had double-digit targets: Calvin Johnson, Jerricho Cotchery, Steve Smith (Car), Larry Fitzgerald, Brandon Llyod, Terrell Owens, Miles Austin, Jason Witten, Greg Jennings, Reggie Wayne, Pierre Garcon, Steve Breaston, Steve Johnson, Mike Sims-Walker, Andre Johnson and Santana Moss.
Mike Sims-Walker and Steve Smith dominated their QB’s eyes and finished the day with 48% and 41% of their teams targets respectively.
Other names that deserve mention are:
Jacob Tamme who had 9 targets and looks to be a sneaky TE1 the rest of the way with Dallas Clark out for the season. He finished the day with 6 receptions for 54 yards and is a recommended hot pickup for week 9.
Dez Bryant received 9 targets from Jon Kitna and even with Romo out looks to be a fantasy factor down the stretch.
Damian Williams had 9 targets and needs to be added to watch lists and even added in deeper leagues with Kenny Britt dealing with a multiple week injury.
Hot Pickups Brandon LaFell and Lance Moore had 9 targets a piece and this further validates their designations as hot pickups.
