Week 13 Rankings
A wide receiver this week we have Dez Bryant as our number one receiver as we expect him to explode this week and Jordy Nelson faces off against Revis or Browner this week. AJ Green looked great last week and is our number two receiver. Odell Beckham makes his debut as a WR1 with an easy date with Jacksonville on the schedule. Beckham was able to creep in due to Marshall’s fall out of the top 12 due his weekly inconsistency. I expect Garcon to bounce back to respectability with McCoy under helm for week 13 and Justin Hunter should have more big games in store as the move to Mettenberger benefited him the most. Michael Floyd and Larry Fitzgerald are not getting a lot of love but if Fitz is healthy he can open up the offense giving Floyd Wr2 upside while Fitz boasts lower end WR3 value until further notice.
At running back this week CJ Anderson cracks our top 10 after a stellar week for the Broncos in week 12 in which he racked up 195 total yards from scrimmage. CJ looks like an ideal system fit and could provide RB1 value the rest of the season. Rashad Jennings continues to outplay disappointing rookie Andre Williams who despite his exciting running style squandered his opportunity to seize the starting job in New York. Jennings is a RB1 this week while we have Williams at the touchdown dependent RB4 level. Isaiah Crowell is the new starter in Cleveland and as the more talented back we expect him to lead the timeshare in the Dawg pound for the next five plus seasons. Tre Mason looks to be in line to have a strong day in week 13 as the Rams take on the lowly Raiders. Daniel ‘Boom’ Herron looked to be an NFL flame out in his rookie season but has now been named the starter over Trent Richardson in Indianapolis. We project both backs to have fantasy value this week with both pegged as RB3 options, Herron at 28 due to workload and Richardson due to TD potential.
At tight end Rob Gronkowski remains atop the mountain while Mychal Rivera falls out of the top ten after two straight disappointing weeks. Apparently teams watch tape and have decided to shut down a player that was functioning as the Raiders top receiver. Vernon Davis and Jordan Cameron have been massive disappointments this year and while Davis will continue to be phased out of the pass game due to his strong blocking skills Cameron should again flourish with Josh Gordon back in uniform to deflect defensive attention. We currently have Fleener at 7 and Allen at 12 as we wait to hear whether or not Allen will suit up. If Allen is able to go Fleener will drop down to the mid-to-late teens at the very least.
At quarterback not much has changed except for Geno Smith taking over for Michael Vick but that hardly qualifies as fantasy relevant outside of the deepest of leagues or two-QB formats. I expect Mettenberger to have another strong day against the Texans this week while Colt McCoy should prove to be a strong fit for Jay Gruden’s system. Delanie Walker had an amazing 155 yard day against the Eagles in week 12 but we need to see him have one more strong game with Mettenberger before we move him back into TE1 territory.
With that said, without further adieu here are our constantly updated rankings for week 13 of the fantasy football season:
