Week Four Rankings
For week four we have some major movers due to performance and/or injury.
Knile Davis despite his monster week three is ranked as a RB3/Flex option as Jamaal Charles is expected back this week while Donald Brown is now looking like a workhorse option for the Chargers with both Ryan Mathews and Danny Woodhead injured. We now view Jordan Matthews as the Eagles number two receiver even if Riley Cooper will officially be the starter due to his blocking prowess.
At the quarterback position Kirk Cousins put on a show in week three and solidified himself as an upside QB2 after a NFL season high 427 passing yard performance. Andrew Luck jumped up to number three in our rankings after he was finally unleashed against a weak Jaguars defense. Matthew Stafford had a horrible game against the Packers but the Lions still managed the win and we like him to bounce back against the Jets secondary. Colin Kaepernick is ranked seventh overall as he has the Eagles on the schedule next in what should be a high scoring affair.
At running back Demarco Murray remains atop our week four rankings while Le’Veon Bell made a major jump and is currently ranked 2nd overall with LeSean McCoy facing off against Patrick Willis and the 49ers and Eddie Lacy continuing to struggle for the Packers. Jamaal Charles is back in the top five after being a gametime decision for week three and Lorenzo Taliaferro is ranked in the top-20 after his strong week three outing leads us to believe he is in the drivers seat for the lead back of a committee even when Bernard Pierce returns after proving his superior schematic fit for Gary Kubiak’s offense.
At wide receiver Pierre Garcon has staked his claim to a WR1 ranking for the rest of the year while Keenan Allen is falling down our board as opposing defenses are forcing Philip Rivers to look elsewhere as he is averaging less than six targets per game. Randall Cobb remains a WR1 option despite the slow week three and Jeremy Maclin has proven an elite fit for Chip Kelly’s scheme and finds himself ranked as a WR1 with other names such as Allen, Andre Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald all falling. Brandin Cooks is ranked as a WR2 and will be most weeks while Julio Jones is ranked second overall and is the only wide receiver not currently suspended that has the quarterback situation to potentially be ranked first overall over Calvin Johnson at times this season.
At tight end Antonio Gates remains a top end TE1 despite the Bills scheming him out of the game in week three while Ladarius Green owners may want to temper expectations going forward despite a week three stat line. Rob Gronkowski is back at number two overall after finding the end zone again in week three. Gronk is nowhere near the stud he can be but is still a top tier standard league option though his PPR value is a little lower for the time being. Larry Donnell is a legit borderline TE1 in PPR formats and Dwayne Allen continues to rise as the Colts best red-zone weapon and tight end.
This week we will be doing our IDP rankings separately so without further adieu here are our constantly updated week four rankings:
