Week One Rankings
At QB we have Manning, Brees and Stafford as our top three plays as Aaron Rodgers has the unenviable task of opening the NF season versus the defending champion Seattle Seahawks. Nick Foles cracks our top 10 despite us ranking him outside the top-12 in preseason rankings due to an easy matchup at home versus the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars. Tony Romo is way down at 17 due a tough matchup versus a still formidable San Francisco 49ers.
At running back LeSean McCoy tops our rankings with a tasty matchup versus the Jaguars while Eddie Lacy is all the way down at number ten due a tough matchup against the Seahawks. Doug Martin is down at 20th overall due to a tough date with the Panthers while Jeremy Hill and Mark Ingram are both ranked as RB3’s due to their weekly TD upside.
At wide receiver we have Demaryius Thomas in our number two spot due to the suspension of Wes Welker while we have Keenan Allen all the way down at 16th overall due to a tough matchup versus Patrick Peterson of the Cardinals. Emmaneuel Sanders comes in as a WR2 option with the suspension to Welker while teammate Cody Latimer is a top-50 option even in a stacked wide receiver field due to his red-zone upside.
At tight end we have the usual suspects atop the board though Gronk is a little lower than usual due to the potential for his snaps to be limited in week one. We have Zach Ertz as a top ten option due to his easy date with the Jaguars and we have Antonio Gates a top-12 option because he is still the Chargers number two option and starting tight end on a team devoid of a legit number two wideout.
Without further adieu here are our week one rankings for both standard and PPR leagues:
