Week Seven Rankings
Week six saw some interesting developments including Victor Cruz and Stevan Ridley being lost for the season and Branden Oliver staking his claim to the starting job even once Ryan Mathews returns. We also saw Jordan Cameron ball out once again while Jerick Mckinnon took over as the starter in Minnesota. All of these developments will affect our week seven rankings and we will continue to update them throughout the week.
At running back Brenden Oliver is ranked as an RB1 again which is saying something because Mathews would be hard pressed to ever find himself ranked as an RB1 this season with or without injuries to Woodhead and Brown. Lamar Miller has settled in as an RB2 and should be ranked there for most of the season. Zac Stacy proved he is who we thought he was, a middling yards per carry, touchdown dependent plodder who excelled due to excellent blocking from the Rams frontline. Ronnie Hillman oddly finds himself as a RB2 this week, I say oddly because despite his plus vision and ability to get what is blocked he is just not as good as he looked in week six.
At wide receiver Jordy Nelson has grabbed hold of the top spot in our rankings with both Calvin Johnson and AJ green sidelined while Odell Beckham has moved into WR2 range following the season ending injury to Victor Cruz. Torrey Smith gets a slight bump after finally having a good fantasy week and TY Hilton makes his debut as WR1 as it has become clear that he is Andrew Luck’s favorite target. Marques Colston gets a huge bump with Jimmy Graham out this week and is ranked as a WR2.
At tight end Larry Donnell has fallen back to 11th while Jordan Cameron is once again ranked as a top five option. Jordan Reed does not seem to have missed a beat and is a high floor TE1 once again.Rob Gronkowski seems to be rounding back into form and is our second overall tight end for week seven. Finally Jace Amaro is now ranked as top-15 option after the Jets realized he may just be their best receiver.
At quarterback we are staying far away from Kirk Cousins and Eli Manning while ESPN had an interesting stat that caused us to boost Derek Carr’s ranking being that Carr has the most passing TD’s ever for a rookie QB in his first five games. Colin Kaepernick finally had the stud fantasy game his owners were holding the breath for. Joe Flacco makes his debut in the top-15 this week in what is expected to be a shootout against the Falcons.
Without further adieu, here are our week seven rankings:
