Who has a better fantasy season in 2012, Robert Griffin III or Andrew Luck?

Rizzla: I believe RGIII is destined for a better rookie season from a fantasy standpoint as he will likely rush for a few hundred more yards than Luck, who has some wheels of his own. RGIII also has better weapons around him which will help lend a hand to his fantasy success in 2012. I have both pegged for about 3,800 passing yards and Luck for 300 rushing yards and RGIII for 500 rushing yards. RGIII is an outstanding pocket passer as well and both of these rookies are primed to make a name for themselves in 2012 fantasy football.

Zach: I’m going against the grain and saying Luck on this one.  I know Collie’s status is in flux, but he still has one of the most consistent receivers in the game the last ten years in Reggie Wayne.  Plus, the Colts play an easier division overall and Luck has a better fantasy schedule, including the Vikings, Packers, Jaguars (twice), Bills, Lions, and Chiefs.  Luck has looked pretty good this preseason, especially for a rookie.  It looks like he has a good grasp of the offense and an important quality that a lot of rookies lack: confidence.

J-Has: RGIII will have a better fantasy season than Luck.  Both Quarterbacks will experience growing pains, struggling against the complex defensive schemes and the speed of opposing defenses, but Griffin III has the clear rushing advantage. In his collegiate career at Baylor, RGIII rushed for 33 touchdowns compared to Luck’s mere 7 TDs at Stanford. When all is said and done, Luck could have the the better overall passer rating, but the total touchdowns, which is the main stat in fantasy football, will go Griffin’s way.
