WR Rankings – Week Seven

Keenan Allen has been on a tear lately and has emerged as the number one receiver for Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers. The Chargers face a bad Jaguars team this weekend and Allen should have another solid fantasy day. We have Allen ranked as a WR2 this week as his talent is legit and his rapport with Rivers continues to grow week to week. Allen looks like he may be in the WR2 conversation to stay for years to come, he’s that good.

Justin Blackmon has been on an absolute tear since returning from suspension averaging 163 yards and 9.5 receptions per game over two contests. This week against a Chargers defense that gives up 14.7 receptions per game (3rd worst in NFL) and 202 yards per game (4th worst in NFL) to opposing wide receivers Blackmon comes in at number five overall this week. Blackmon can run all of the routes and was targeted on 47 percent of Chad Henne’s passes with Cecil Shorts injured; Shorts is expected to miss this weeks tilt against the Chargers with a clavicle injury.

T.Y Hilton continues to be inconsistent for fantasy owners mixing in huge lines with utter disappointments. The Colts should have to throw the ball a ton in this one with the Broncos presumably looking to pour it on Jim Irsay’s Colts after his ill conceived comments earlier this week. Hilton ranks as a upside WR2 option with a flex floor this week, but we are leaning to his ceiling in a potential shoot-out.

Calvin Johnson has looked healthy this week in practice and should be primed to be more than just a decoy this week against the Bengals. Megatron should be peppered by Stafford with targets as they face off against fellow elite wide receiver A.J Green. Johnson like always comes in as our number one ranked receiver.

Antonio Brown has been on fire so far this season averaging 8.2 receptions and 99.6 yards per game. Big Ben himself predicted that these numbers will not last but he should continue to catch at least six passes a game the rest of the way after defenses adjust. For now continue to ride Brown until the proverbial wheels fall off. Brown makes his first appearance as a WR1 on our rankings as the Steelers face off against the Ravens.
