Al Farouq-Aminu: Fantasy Basketball Rookie Impact

aminuAl-Farouq Aminu should be an instant starter in Clipper land where he will enter a formidable lineup that includes young studs Blake Griffin and Eric Gordon, former all-stars Baron Davis and Chris Kaman, and young talent in Eric Bledsoe, Willie Warren and DeAndre Jordan.

Aminu has 18 and 8 upside this season but will likely settle in at something closer to 13 and 7. Aminu is a hot dynasty league add as small forwards with this sort of upside come at a premium. Al Farouq Aminu has the ability to average double-digit boards and 2+ blocks a game while chipping in a steal and a half a game. Those numbers would make Aminu a top-50 player in fantasy.

Are you sure he is an instant starter? He cant shoot consistently yet so that might keep his points down. I agree with you on the rebounds, steals and blocks part because he is a beast on defense. But idk if you can beat out gomes for the starting spot immediately unless he really proves himself in training camp.

You make a good point but the starting experience will be invaluable to Aminu a la DeRozan for the Raps last year.

Gomes can be very effective off the bench, but may start until they deem Aminu ready as you suggested
