Ed Davis: Fantasy Basketball Rookie Impact

This article was first printed at RaptorsDigest.com

eddavisEd Davis suffered a storybook-esque slip to a Toronto Raptors franchise that was destined to lose its franchise player in Chris Bosh. Ed Davis is the anti-Chris Bosh even though he names him as one of his favourite players. Davis specializes on defense, something that Chris Bosh was never known for and despite Davis’ upside he will not be scoring 23 ppg this year, so he is not an effective Chris Bosh replacement.

Ed Davis has 14 and 10 upside in this offense for the 2010-2011 campaign as he will undoubtedly, barring a trade of course, start the season as the first big off the bench behind Andrea Bargnani and Amir Johnson even if he may be the most talented big man on the Raptors roster.

Look for Davis to also show up in the peripheral categories including blocks, steals and assists. Davis is a well-rounded big man and would have went much earlier in the draft had he not injured his hand to end his college career or if the Warriors had not chose Udoh over Monroe.

This is an ideal situation for all parties involved; Ed Davis, the Raptors and fantasy basketball G.M’s. Davis is ready to make an impact.
