Fantasy Basketball Box Score Boxing 10.26.10 – Batum makes noise

In Fantasy Basketball Box Score Boxing Win My Fantasy League writer Rizzla takes a look at the previous nights most interesting fantasy lines and provides some insight and analysis to utilize going forward.

Suns Trail Blazers BasketballNicolas Batum made a case to be mainstay in the Blazers rotation and thus fantasy lineups with a eye-popping 19 point and 11 rebound night. Now obviously the rebound numbers wont be maintained but Batum is still very young and we got yet another glimpse at his true potential tonight. Dynasty leaguers take note. If Batum can string together a few nights like this he can emerge as the Blazers true #2 option.

Chris Bosh had a very quiet 8 points and 8 rebounds on 3 for 11 shooting. The good news here is that he got to hoist 11 shots which coupled with a little more aggressiveness getting to the line could make him a decent 17 and 10 player this season.

Udonis Haslem got 30 minutes to the Miami Heats starting center Joel Anthony’s 17 minutes and Haslem responded with a solid 11 rebound effort. Haslem appears to be in line for a quiet 8 and 8 season but could help owners in deep leagues with his %’s as well. Obviously if Bosh goes down Haslem’s value will skyrocket. We expect his minutes to decrease once the Heat get Ilgauskas and Pittman more minutes in the rotation.

Rajon Rondo was the Fantasy Beast of the night and compiled a whopping 17 assists in a Celtics win over the Heat. Look for Rondo to threaten a double-digit assist average this season.

Wesley Mathews had 13 and 6 in 30 minutes of play and he is someone you want to add to your watch list if he is on your wire as he is now slated to get some PG minutes which has increased his opportunity to be on the floor and get playing time.

Yao Ming had a solid 9 point, 11 rebound and 2 block effort in 24 minutes and this just goes to show that Yao has fantasy upside even with the Rockets limiting him to 24 minutes a game for the regular season.

Luis Scola is already making a case for ADP MVP with a monstrous 18 points and 16 rebounds. He also chipped in 4 assists and a steal and fantasy friendly lines like this are welcomed by all Scola owners.

Chase Budinger just keeps on scoring.
