Greg Monroe: Fantasy Basketball Rookie Impact

Greg Monroe to the Pistons

monroeThe Pistons have finally landed their big man in Greg Monroe. Monroe suffered an injury that may keep him from claiming the job to start the season but make no mistakes the sweet shooting and passing Monroe is the Pistons center of the future.

Monroe was compared favorably to Chris Bosh coming into the league as a big man with extended range. He has the best passing skills of any big man in his class and should make a Brad Miller type impact in the assist category further expanding his fantasy basketball upside.

Greg Monroe should be good for a quiet 16 and 10 once he starts to get starter minutes and he has 18 and 11 upside for the long-term despite not being much of a #1 or even a #2 option.

Good centers don’t come along too often so make an early move on Monroe in rookie drafts in dynasty leagues and consider Monroe a solid sleeper in redraft leagues.
