Hot Pickups – Week 14

The fantasy playoffs are here and this will be one of the last opportunities for you to improve your team for your playoff run. This week we have a couple running backs that should be rostered for the playoffs which is welcome news to fantasy owners with high waiver priority or a wad of FAAB dollars left to their disposal. This week we will not cover names like Jonathan Stewart who is already owned in all competitive formats and players like Charles Johnson and Doug Martin who has too low of a floor.

Daniel ‘Boom’ Herron – Trent Richardson continues to look too tentative to be an effective NFL runner while practice squad type Boom Herron is piling up chunks of yards on the ground if T-Rich’s stead. Herron has outplayed Richardson and should continue to be the more valuable back in this backfield. Herron is currently available in 52 percent of Yahoo! leagues and should offer some deep league flex value at the very least and has the upside to be a sneaky RB3 play in PPR formats.

Andre Williams – With Rashad Jennings hurt the exciting but plodding Andre Williams will get another shot to prove that he has caught up to the speed of the NFL game against a leaky Titans run defense. Williams has RB2 upside this week due to the juicy matchup and should be owned in all leagues. Williams is available in 60 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Marion Grice – Grice has been tipped as the player who will get the start for the Cardinals if Andre Ellington is inactive for this weeks game against the Chiefs. Available in 99 percent of leagues most playoff teams should not need him as a starter but he should be serviceable in a pinch and you also want to keep him off your rival owners rosters just in case he does happen to go off in the coming weeks while Ellington is sidelined.

Jarvis Landry – Landry has continued to impress as a Dolphin and he is quietly becoming a more reliable fantasy player week to week. Armed with the best hands on the team, top two blocking prowess and stellar route running skills Landry is a player on the rise who has also become a more reliable fantasy option. Landry has seen double digit targets in three of his last four contests and is a legit option as a WR4 option and has WR3 upside in PPR formats. Landry is available in 40 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Stedman Bailey – Currently available in 98 percent of Yahoo! leagues Bailey is once again provig to be the superior player to former first round pick and college teammate Tavon Austin. Bailey has the best hands on the team and despite subpar quarterback play has been able to still muster up some production. Bailey has WR3 upside with a WR5 floor for week 14 and is someone you want on your roster whether it is to play him or to stop your rivals from doing so.

Donte Moncrief – A big play threat with red zone weapon size Moncrief will be an inconsistent fantasy option outside of sixteen team or deeper fantasy leagues. If you are in a very deep format there are likely no higher upside options available at wideout but with a limited weekly role Moncrief is nothing more than an upside boom or bust option. Moncrief is available in 93 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Jordan Reed – Available in 51 percent of Yahoo! leagues we expect that he is not available in most of our readers leagues but advise to check your wire just in case. Reed is a top ten tight end with top five upside on a weekly basis and should already be owned in all league sizes.
