Fantasy Football Hot Pickups – Week 9

Buccaneers Cardinals FootballLeGarrette Blount has been the Tampa Bay Buccaneers primary ball handler for 2 weeks now but it still sitting at only 26% owned. He looked amazing this week with 22 carries for 120 yards and 2 TD’s. He needs to be added in all leagues. Blount is a wrecking ball at 247 pounds and the Titans must already regret parting ways with this talented but troubled rookie..

Donald Brown was slated to start Monday Night Football in place of the injured Joseph Addai and is only 30% owned. Mike Hart got the start but Brown is the back to own if healthy and Addai is out. He seems to be taken in all my leagues but maybe you are more lucky. He is an excellent buy-low in dynasty leagues and needs to be added in all redraft leagues he is available.

Jacob Tamme will be the starting TE for the Colts the rest of the season with perennial all-pro Dallas Clark on the mend on the injured reserve list. He is worth an add as a sneaky TE1 after racking up 6 receptions, 64 yards and a TD on 9 targets.

Steve Breaston had 8 receptions for 147 yards and is somehow sitting at only 40% owned. Check your wire just to be sure this former 1,000 yard receiver is not sitting on your wire.

Matthew Stafford is only 45% owned…..not sure how this happened as people were drafting him as their QB1 before the season, but needless to say after his 4 TD performance this past Sunday that % is set to go up. Add as a QB2 as we all need insurance in case of injury: Just ask Tony Romo owners.

Darrius Heyward-Bey had a breakout game with 5 receptions for 105 yards and a TD while operating as the Oakland raiders #1 WR. Hopefully DHB has more games like this in store and he is worth an end of your bench roster add due to his upside.

Lance Moore continues to get it done week in and week out but he is still available in 41% of leagues and he needs to be added where available. Drew Brees and Lance Moore have rekindled the chemistry they shared two years ago and he should be owned in all leagues.

58155333James Davis looks like a nice speculative add with Ryan Torain getting dinged up and also being largely ineffective Davis may get a shot at the rotation in short order. James Davis’ pedigree suggests he will be able to grasp the starting job from Torain.

Brandon LaFell had 4 receptions, 40 yards and a TD for the Panthers and this is the second straight week that he has had a fantasy relevant line. He is a must-add in dynasty leagues and is worth a look for WR needy teams in deeper leagues.

Nate Burleson had a solid day for the Lions racking up 7 receptions for 47 yards and is worth the PPR league add with Matthew Stafford back from injury. Standard league G.M’s can place him on their watch list.

David Garrard had a monster fantasy day with 4 TD’s and there is no way he should only be 21% owned. I mean we all need backup QB’s right. Garrard is worth an add as a low-end QB2.

Brandon Gibson had showed solid rapport with QB Sam Bradford and finished the day with 6 receptions for 67 yards. There are plenty of targets to go around with no true #1 WR in St. Louis and Gibson and Danny Amendola are the waiver wire adds to make.

Danny Amendola had 6 receptions for 28 yards and a TD and despite being hailed as a hot pickup for a few weeks now he currently sits at only 37% owned. Make the add if you have the WR need.

Mike Thomas had 4 receptions for 41 yards and a TD against the Cowboys and has the makings of a solid flex option in PPR leagues and deeper leagues.

Jacoby Jones is available in 70% of leagues and is worth consideration for WR needy teams in deeper leagues. He is a threat to score every week as one of the teams top vertical threats and has serious upside should he ascend to the starting lineup.

Kevin Walter is available in 48% of leagues and needs to be on fantasy rosters in deeper leagues. He is a solid flex2 in standard leagues and is a flex option in PPR leagues. Make the add where rosters necessitate.
