RB Rankings – Week Eight

Started in only 29 percent of leagues last week Zac Stacy has emerged as a high end RB3 option with RB2 upside. Despite the tough match-up versus a rugged Panthers front seven Stacy managed to pile up 89 yards on 21 touches which included four receptions. Stacy has finally emerged and it is time to start him with confidence especially if Sam Bradford’s injury proves serious. We have Stacy currently pegged as our number 22 ranked running back in a tough matchup against the Seahawks.

Mike James will be the Buccaneers feature back this week and if reports are to be believed the rest of the season. Martin is feared to have a torn labrum which would cost him the rest of the season but joke of a head coach Greg Schiano has refused to rule out his bellcow. We have James as a RB2 option this week versus a tough Panthers defense. If given the requisite touches James can emerge from this one with 85 plus yards from scrimmage with the possibility of a score. Not jump off the page exciting numbers but definitely serviceable during the bye week crunch.

Peyton Hillis did not look impressive as a runner on Monday Night Football but impressed as a receiver while playing lead back for the Giants. With no guarantee Jacobs will be back this week and with the chance he may be limited even if he does Hillis looks like a low end flex play for those in the bye week crunch. We have Hillis as our ranked running back in a tasty matchup with the Eagles.

Eddie Lacy finds himself ranked as our number eight overall running back following Jermichael Finley’s potentially season ending injury. Lacy has emerged for the Packers who will now be leaning on him even more down two of its top three receiving threats. Lacy will likely be in or around RB1 territory for the rest of the season or until Johnathan Franklin forces his way into a timeshare.
