Fantasy Basketball Buzzer Beater Nov. 21st – Jarrett Jack traded for Peja Stojakovic

Jarrett Jack, David Andersen, and Marcus Banks have been traded to the Hornets for Jerryd Bayless and Peja Stojakovic. The Hornets gain some depth, adding a PG veteran in Jack to play behind Chris Paul and another big man in David Andersen. Of all the players involved Bayless has the most upside. He has a lot of potential and should get a bump in minutes now that he is backing up Jose Calderon instead of Chris Paul.

Fantasy Basketball Buzzer Beater Nov. 19th – Troy Murphy on trading block?

Considering he was the biggest acquisition for the Nets this year and a former stat stuff in points, rebounds and threes, things have not worked out for Murphy fantasy owners. There are reports that Troy Murphy is on the trading block after losing his starting spot to Kris Humphries. Nets Head Coach Avery Johnson has made it clear in the past that rookie Derrick Favors will continue to get minutes. This has resulted in a log jam at the PF position with Murphy as the odd man out.

Fantasy Basketball Buzzer Beater Nov. 17th – Jamison to finally start

Antawn Jamison will likely return to the Cavaliers starting lineup, giving him a bump in minutes. Jamison has come off the bench in every game this season, thereby limiting his fantasy productivity. A move to the starting rotation should get his minutes above 30 per game and result in an improved stat line.

Is it Time to Drop Anthony Randolph?

The move from the Golden State to the Big Apple appeared to offer the ideal situation for Randolph, ridding himself of Nelly’s doghouse and joining a team without a clear-cut starting Center. Even the poor preseason did not deter fantasy owners on draft day as Randolph was selected between the 7th and 8th round of standard twelve team leagues. But 3 weeks into the season, Randolph is among the biggest fantasy busts.

Fantasy Basketball Buzzer Beater Nov. 16th – Al-Farouq Aminu Rising

Al-Farouq Aminu got his 2nd start of the season on Monday and had a promising stat line of 14 points, 5 rebounds, 2 three-pointers, and 1 steal. The Clippers are cemented at every position except for SF, as Ryan Gomes has been unimpressive so far. If Aminu continues to produce, he should remain in the Clippers’ starting lineup. Because of his rookie upside and optimal situation, he is a pickup in deep leagues and should be on the Watch List of shallow leagues.

Fantasy Basketball Buzzer Beater for Nov. 14th – David Lee out

David Lee will undergo elbow surgery after an infection developed from a cut in his arm. Last Wednesday Lee elbowed Wilson Chandler in the mouth. At the time it looked like Chandler took the brunt of the collision as he lost some teeth. But a fragment of a tooth was left in Lee’s arm, resulting in an infection. At this point, there is no timetable for Lee’s return.

Fantasy Basketball Buzzer Beater for Nov. 10th Kaman out, Roy reduced

Expect a reduction in Brandon Roy’s minutes due to some “nagging” injuries. Roy has been averaging 39 minutes per game this season, but his scoring, assists, and rebound numbers are down. He showed a lot of toughness during last year’s playoffs playing 8 days after undergoing knee surgery. Roy needs to be on the floor in order for the Trail Blazers to win, so I expect that the Portland guard will either take some games off or continue to play over 30 minutes a game. He is flying to Los Angeles to get his left knee examined, so stay tuned for an update.

Fantasy Basketball Buzzer Beater for Nov 9th

Chris Bosh admitted that the transition to his new role (from number 1 on Toronto to number 3 on Miami) has been tougher than expected. He was quoted as saying “I get a little lost out there because it’s different.” Bosh is the optimum buy low candidate as his 14.4 points and 5.4 rebounds will surely increase as he gets more accustomed to the offense.
