0

This week we will take a look at the top cost per projected points (CPP) plays this week according to our rankings posted below. As always we will be updating them up until kickoff so be sure to check back regularly as we react to the latest fantasy news and information throughout the weekend.

Deshaun Watson $333 CPP, Salary $8,000

Deshaun Watson has yet to have a true breakout game this season and this week against a Dallas Cowboys team missing the heart of their defense in Sean Lee may be finally be the time we see it. The Texans should have Deandre Hopkins, Will Fuller and Keke Coutee all active for this one and with their run game continuing to struggle the Texans will likely have to throw early and often if they are to cover the three points Vegas has them at. Watson continues to put up a ton of air yards coming in at third in the NFL compared to being only ninth in the league in total passing yards. Watson is still exercising continues to exercise his mobility coming in at third in the NFL with just over 40 yards per game but is first in total yards among quarterbacks at 161 rushing yards which is quite the feat when you consider that said yardage total represent more than so called RB2s Alex Collins and Kenyan Drake have on the season despite playing every game. Watson is our top CPP play this week and we expect him to secure at least three total touchdowns against the Cowboys.

Saquon Barkley $396 CPP, Salary $7,900

Saquon Barkley has done all of the talking needed on the field so far this season and is continuing to be used in a workhorse role for the New York Giants. The Cowboys have surrendered 5.4 yards per carry and four receptions to opposing running backs so far this season and should be absolutely gashed by Barkley this week in what will likely turn into the Elliot vs Barkley show. Barkley is our number two ranked running back this week and is sitting at sixth in FanDuel salary at $7,900. We project Barkley to amass 125 rushing yards and a touchdown with five plus receptions for 80 yards. Start Barkley where possible.

Joe Mixon $408 CPP, Salary $7,100

Joe Mixon opened the 2018 season on fire and looks to be priced at a discount over at the FanDuel game despite averaging 89.5 yards per game on the ground which is good for third in the NFL. Mixon will continue to be used in a workhorse role this season but could see even more touches than usual this week with Giovani Bernard ruled out. The Dolphins have been a sieve to opposing running backs this season rating as the fourth softest against the run by playerprofiler.com and should gift a monster day to the talented sophomore running back. We have yet to witness Joe Mixon’s fantasy ceiling thus far in his career but as long as his knee has the requisite strength we could get a glimpse of it this weekend. Mixon is our sixth ranked back this week while sporting a FanDuel salary rank of eleventh overall. Mixon should see plenty of opportunities to eat in a game that is projected by Vegas to hit 48.5 points with the Bengals six point favorites, a game script that should lead to plenty of opportunities both on the ground and through the air for the breakout running back. Start Mixon where possible.

Corey Davis $476 CPP, Salary $6,400

Corey Davis heads into week five sporting a top five 32 percent target share and an eye opening .77 weighted opportunity rating which is good for second in the NFL. Davis has been the focal point of the Titans pass game and this is a trend that will undoubtedly continue as Marcus Mariota has never been shy about targeting his number one receivers. Davis’ aforementioned numbers rank him comfortably among the elite and it is only a matter of time until the fantasy community starts treating him as such. Corey Davis while he has not been terribly efficient with his targets still ranks 12th in yards per route and should be in line for a big game versus a Buffalo Bills defense that surrendered fourteen receptions and 105 yards to Adam Thielen in week three. Start Davis where needed.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling $487 CPP, Salary $4,800

With Randall Cobb and likely Geronimo Allison both out for Sunday’s contest against the Lions MVS could be in for a big game. Scantling did not impress in his first start but should see many more targets this weekend with the Packers banged up at wide receiver. We have long been high on MVS as a dynasty asset as we project MVS and J’Mon Moore as starters as soon as the end of this season. MVS is a 6’4 receiver with 4.37 speed who could theoretically ascend as far as the number two role with a monster game this week. Scantling projects to be a popular play this week which may cause some to shy away from him so exploit that fact and start the rookie receiver who could easily impress with over 100 yards and a touchdown in week five.

Jared Cook $493 CPP, Salary $5,900

Jared Cook has been on absolute fire so far this season and heads into week five sitting at first in receiving yards, fourth in air yards, second in receptions, second in yards after catch, first in red zone receptions and top five in target share among tight ends as per playerprofiler.com. Cook also leads the Oakland Raiders in targets, receptions, total receiving yards and touchdowns numbers which accentuate Cooks role in this offense but also Derek Carr’s affinity for his big bodied tight end with 4.4 wheels. Slated to square off against the chargers this week Cook could see a monster game especially if Chargers star defensive back Casey Hayward shadows Amari Cooper. The Raiders who are seven point underdogs in this one are expected to throw a ton this week buoying the value of our number four ranked tight end for week five. Get Cook into your FD lineups where possible.
