Hanley Ramirez- when he has played in at least 140 games in a season Ramirez has averaged a .313 AVG, .385 OBP, 520 SLG, .906 OPS, 25 HR, 78 RBI, 112 R, 187 H, 39 SB, and 108 SO.
Ramirez is one of the most consistent hitters in baseball.
Troy Tulowitzki- when he has played in at least 120 games in a season Tulo has averaged a .301 AVG, .372 OBP, .533 SLG, .906 OPS, 28 HR, 95 RBI, 98 R, 162 H, 13 SB, and 107 SO.
Tulowitzki’s flaw is that he has experienced some injury problems in his career while Ramirez has stayed relatively healthy.
The Colorado shortstop played in 122 games last season but still hit a career high .315, 27 HR, and 95 RBI. Imagine what he could have done in 30 or so more games.
If I knew for sure that Tulowitzki was going to play as many games as Ramirez I would pick Tulo.
You can argue that Tulo has more power and production while Ramirez is a more consistent hitter, scores more runs, and steals a lot more bases.
Both players hit in fairly favorable offensive parks, although Tulo might have a slight advantage at Coors Field.
In my opinion, Ramirez is 1 and Tulowitzki is 1A, but a 150 game Tulo is better than a 150 game Ramirez.
