Fantasy Football Target Practice Week 10

In Target Practice Win My Fantasy League writer Rizzla takes a look at the past weeks top targets and provides some fantasy football analysis to utilize going forward.

Dwayne Bowe led all players in week 10 in targets amassing 18 targets as the Chiefs played from behind the whole game. Bowe had a fantastic week with 13 receptions for 186 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Roddy White and ‘Big’ Mike Williams were close behind him at 17 targets a piece, with Mike Williams being targeted a whopping 43% of the time.

Jermaine Gresham had the most efficient day of receivers in double digit targets hauling in 9 of his 10 targets. Gresham is someone to add in fantasy leagues as a TE2 or as an insurance tight end for the stretch run.

Steve Breaston had the worst day of receivers in double digit targets as he only managed to haul in 4 of his 10 targets. Teammate Larry Fitzgerald also had a tough day with only 7 receptions off of 15 targets.

Nate Washington had a terrible day of his own only managing to haul in 3 of his 9 targets and he only stands to lose more value going forward as Randy Moss gets more ingrained in the Titans offense.

Receivers that finished week 10 with double digit receptions include, in order: Dwayne Bowe, Roddy White, Mike Williams (Sea), Mario Manningham, Larry Fitzgerald, Calvin Johnson, Chad Ochocinco, Wes Welker, Mike Wallace, Andre Johnson, Early Doucet, Steve Breaston, LaDainian Tomlinson, Jacob Tamme, Ben Watson, Jermaine Gresham, Michael Jenkins and Brandon Llyod.

The most interesting names on this list are:

Mario Manningham who has taken over as the Giants #2 receiver with Steve Smith due to be out until early December. He received 16 targets to Hakeem Nicks’ 8 targets and should be owned in more than 65% of fantasy leagues.

Mike Williams of the Seattle Seahawks, who we have already touted as a hot pickup, needs to be owned in all leagues, not just 40% of them.

Early Doucet managed to get 10 targets and hauled in six receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown and is worth an add as the draft season sleeper is now healthy and heavily targeted by his QB. He had the most efficient day of any top-3 Cardinals receiver.

Michael Jenkins had 10 targets but only managed to haul in five but is still a name to monitor due to his high amount of targets.

Emmanuel Sanders and Antwaan Randle El are two other interesting names as they received 9 targets a piece but they got extra burn taking the place of the concussed Hines Ward who is set to return in week 11.
