Hot Pickups – Week Nine (Late Week Edition)

0

Michael Crabtree – Following a five catch, 54 yard and one touchdown performance this past week it appears that Alex Smith and Michael Crabtree are finally showing some consistent chemistry and with this development Crabtree has become a fantasy starter, especially over the bye weeks. Crabtree qualifies as a flex worthy candidate in most league formats and is currently available in 52 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Brent Celek – Brent Celek and Michael Vick showed some great chemistry this past Sunday night and we expect Celek to start to continue to put up decent fantasy numbers now that Vick has shown trust in his safety valve. It was always expected that Celek would come a stud under Vick but that production never materialized. Sunday nights game against the Cowboys was a definite step in the right direction. Celek is available in 74 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Ben Obomanu – Obomanu went off for 102 yards from four receptions in week eight and looks to be among Tavaris Jackson’s favorite targets going forward. With Tavaris as a shaky QB2 play at best Ben will have his quiet weeks but he has become fantasy relevant in leagues with twelve or more teams. Obomanu is a bye week filler/injury replacement in smaller leagues and a flex2 worthy starter in deeper leagues. Obomanu is available in 99 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Antonio Brown – Antonio Brown keeps on going off. This past Sunday he had nine receptions for 61 yards and a touchdown and is showing no signs of slowing down. Brown is currently available in 41 percent of Yahoo! leagues and has now solidified himself as a flex worthy candidate in all league sizes.

Jonathan Baldwin – Baldwin broke this past Monday night with five receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown. Baldwin has considerable upside the rest of the way but still needs to show some consistency before being trusted as anything more than a flex2 option. He has a high ceiling in dynasty leagues so if he is somehow on the wire in those setting hr needs to be immediately snapped up. Those in deeper leagues with a roster spot to spare will also want to acquire the services of this talented, but knuckle-headed young rookie. Baldwin is available in 65 percent of Yahoo! leagues after being scooped up by 34 percent of managers during this weeks waiver period.

Honorable Mention: Titus Young, Damian Williams, Eddie Royal
