RB Rankings – Week Five

Alfred Morris is the real deal. Forget all the nonsense you were told in the first two weeks of the season, even those naysayers are believers now. Morris has provided RB1 value thus far this season despite not being involved in the passing game as anything more than a blocker. Morris got his first reception last week and there is a reason to believe his role as a receiver will grow as the season wears on. Morris is ranked as the number seven back for this week.

CJ Spiller is back, but so is Fred Jackson. While Spiller had a better game on the ground vs the Pats it was Jackson who gained the most yards from scrimmage. Those who rode Spiller the first few weeks of the season should cherish those moments as this is a full blown timeshare. We have both ranked as low-end RB2/high-end RB3’s this week.

LeSean McCoy finds himself ranked all the way down at number eight this week despite being one of the most electric running backs in the entire NFL. Troy Polamalu and James Harrison are due back this week and the Eagles run game looks to suffer for it. McCoy still looks like an RB1 but has significant downside this week.

Ryan Williams is ranked at number 17 this week as he faces off against a Rams run D that doesn’t exactly keep opposing running back coaches up at night. Williams has a ton of talent and this may be the game he gets to show it off in the NFL.
