Fantasy Football Alert: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Star WR Mike Williams May Not Play This weekend: Fantasy Impact

Mike Williams was arrested Friday morning for DUI.

Now while original reports had that he would still play this Sunday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter has now backtracked and stated that another Buccaneers official has informed him that Mike Williams will not play.

Mike Williams is an extraordinary talent who has really showed his potential this season already amassing five touchdowns and 627 yard receiving.

He is on pace for a 1,000 yard season and will be one of only a couple rookies to surpass that mark in his rookie season over from the last few drafts.

He lasted until the 4th round in the draft due to character concerns arising from a exam cheating incident and an arrest that led to Williams being removed from the team.

Fantasy Impact:

If Mike Williams does indeed get punished with a benching than Arrelious Benn and Kellen Winslow get major fantasy upgrades.

Arrelious Benn will get his first shot at being a number one receiver and after scoring in each of his last two contests, the fantasy arrow is pointing up for the WR the Bucs drafted two rounds ahead of Mike Williams.

Benn was recruited by Raheem Morris in college and Morris still has a lot of a love for the receiver he tried to get to come play for him at Kansas State.

Kellen Winslow lost #1 target responsibility to Mike Williams this year but projects as an elite TE1 with Mike Williams potentially out of the lineup and he is worth the start if he is on your bench.
