ADP Busts: Point Guards

1

Win My Fantasy League writers Rizzla and J-Has discuss 2 rather shocking fantasy basketball potential ADP busts.

jason_kiddJason Kidd

Rizzla:
Jason Kidd: No, no, no, I am not saying ‘bust’, bust. But he will likely not live up to his ADP if the Mavericks are serious about turning Beaubois into a PG. Kidd seems to be in support of the move and even offered to come off the bench to help Rodrigue Beaubois’ development. I love Jason Kidd and think there is a chance he finishes the season as a top-10 player like last season but Beaubois is a talent and Kidd’s willingness to come off the bench is enough for me to let someone else deal with the potential risk.

JH:
Rizzla makes a very good point.  However, Beaubois is recovering from a broken foot, which he injured while training for the French National team in August, so his progress in Training Camp needs to be monitored carefully. I don’t plan to draft Kidd, as he is in the start of my 2nd Tier of rankings (1st Tier includes: CP3, Wade, Curry, Deron, Rondo, and Nash), but we cannot ignore his balanced contribution, especially in leagues that include the Assist-to-Turnover ratio.  Overall, I still agree with Rizzla as Yahoo’s 17th overall rank of Kidd is much too high.

Mo Williams

Rizzla:
Mo Williams: Yahoo! has him ranked as their #13 PG while I have him ranked as my #21 point guard, there is a big discrepancy here and it is mostly due to the fact that Mo will be playing less facilitator without LBJ and more shoot-first pint guard which will tank his fantasy value in both FG% and assists which stands to knock him outside of the top-20 PG’s on the season.

J-Has:
I also ranked Mo Williams well below the Yahoo! ranking.  Mo’s fantasy value will be limited to points and 3-pointers as he will have limited help on the Cavs.  Add the fact that Williams admitted the ‘Decision’ of LeBron had a depressing effect on him, he appears one Point Guard that I plan to stay away from in this year’s draft.
