Who is Jacoby Ford?: Fantasy Analysis

Who is Jacoby Ford?

Jacoby Ford is a WR for the Oakland Raiders with track star speed as we all saw when he burned Brandon Flowers for that deep bomb.

Ford is a WR out of Clemson who was supposed to be raw as a receiver and was also supposed to be buried on the Raiders depth chart behind the likes of Chaz Schilens, Louis Murphy, Darrius-Heyward Bey and even Johnny Lee Higgins; further hurting his fantasy potential was the fact that RB’s Darren McFadden and Michael Bush and TE Zach Miller were expected to take priority in the passing game over Oakland’s WR’s.

Enter week 9 and Jacoby Ford is named a starter due to a rash of injuries and he looked electric and broke out for 148 yards on 6 receptions and heavily impressed all who had a chance to take in the game including the Raiders coaching staff who will be giving him a more certain role going forward.

He is worth the add in all dynasty leagues and is worth a look in deeper redraft formats and has solid flex upside the rest of the way or at least until Zach Miller and Chaz Schilens both return. Jacoby is a recommended hot pickup for week 10.

He also added a kick-off return TD and had over 300 all-purpose yards on the day and figures to keep getting work in the kicking game which should further boost his fantasy value.

He did good for himself with QB issues in college and thus the transition to playing with the Raiders QB’s was more seamless than some may have thought.

Maybe its just me but I love having players that can run under 4.3 in the 40 and Ford ran a 4.28 and his wheels should help him burn defenders time and time again for the Raiders and his fantasy owners.
